THE OHIO COUNTY TIMES, HARTFORD, KENTUCKY, SEPTEMBER 27. 1973 10 OHIO CO UNTY St )CIAL E VENT'00 Beaver Dam News Mrs. Moxley Celebrated 80th Birthday Sunday Sixty-five rlatives and friends and Mrs. Ernest Moxley of Charleston, Missouri gathered at her home on Sunday September 23 to celebrate her 80th birthdaY. Relatives from Kentucky who attended were her brother Mr. Hollon Shown, Mr. and Mrs. John R. Parker, Mrs. Maye Barnes, Mrs. Carlton Daniel, Mr. John Daniel and Marian Daniel, Suella Elliott, and Mrs. Mayme Belle Gunter. Mrs. Moxley's other brother, Mrs. Golden Shown and Mrs. Shown of Central City, attended accompanied by Mr. Xavier Wier of Owensboro. Her only nephew Mr. Stuart Mahurin of Henderson accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Mahurin and Haye Mahurin with their families were also present. Mrs. Moxley had a won- derful day which she had helped plan for sometime. Those who attended also had an equally enjoyable time. Mr. Jesse Haven of Louisville visited his mother Mrs. Rhoda Haven on Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Chinn of Danville Kentucky spent the weekend with Mr. .Chinn's mother, Mrs. Edith ;Chinn. Mrs. Marvin Ferguson rturned during the past, weekend from a visit with her son, Mrs. Brent Ferguson at Walter Reed Hospilal, Washington, D.C. Brent underwent surgery and shows some im- provement. Our sympathy goes to Miss Bess Alford in the loss of her sister Mrs. Effie Williams of Owensboro. Mr. and Mrs. Al Chinn of Plainsville, Indiana, Mrs. Giyndean Hazelrigg of Hartford, Mrs. Alice Daniel, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Brown, Messr. Ted Kelly and Paul Brown of Beaver Dam had 6 o'clock dinner Wed- nesday with Mr. and Mrs. Anton Chinn. Mrs. Lucille Stevens Adams of Louisville, Kentucky spent the weekend with Mrs. Mallie Myers and Mrs. Clemmie Tate. They calledonMrs.HollonShown, Mrs. Ethel Ford, Mrs. Alice Daniel and Mr. and Mrs. Horton LucK Saturday af- ternoon. Mrs. Lucille Adams of Louisville, Kentucky was dinner guest of Mrs. Mrs. Horton LucK and Miss Oma Sue Luck on Sunday. In the afternoon they visited Mr. Roy Hocker of Centertown. Misses Novia Ross and Mary Brown took dinner and went to Drakesboro on Friday for a surprise visit to Mrs. A. T. Ross. Mr. Earl Chick is in the Ohio County Hospital following a slight stoke. Mr. andMrs. Wayne Luanne attended the funeral Moore and children of of Mr. Brown on Sunday. Mrs. Elmer Stewart is visiting her sister, Mrs. Wilson Brown of Jackson, Tennessee. Mr. Brown passed away on of Friday. during heart surgery at Memphis Tennessee. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Stewart an Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Moseley Jr. and children, Terry and where she had surgery ten days before. Mr. and Mrs. Raymond L. Brown, Sr. have returned from three weeks spent in Virginia and West Virginia. While in Roanoke, Virginia they visited Mrs. Brown's sisters and attended the Crook family reunion. And they attended theordination services for two deacons at the airline Baptist Church there Sunday evening at 2 p.m. The two ordained were Dennis Elliott and Ray Collier, Mr. Elliot is the husband of the Porter's granddaughter, Mrs. DeAnne (Chinn) Elliott. Mrs. Mattie James is a patient at the Ohio County Hospital for treatments. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Clark and children, Cindy and Montye, of Owensboro spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Schmidt and Betty. Our deepest sympathy goes to Mrs. Mary K. Maddox and Mrs. Marie Rowe in the death of their father Walter Hill who was buried at Ceralvo last Thursday.Also our sym- pathy goes to the rest of Mr. Hill's family. May God bless each one of them at this time. Claude Shrull is a patient in a hospital in Louisville for treatments. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Sch- midt received word Sunday of the birth of a great- granddaughter born Sunday September 23rd to Mr. and Mrs. Bob Schmidt. Chicago, Illinois. The little lady weighed 81: lbs. and has been named Debbie. Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Johnston and Mrs. Alma Roeder returned to their home Saturday from Texas where they had to attend the funeral and burial of their sister, Mrs. Ethel Stevens. While there _ Mr. Johnston had to be admitted to the hospital for four days with a kidney stone attack. Our sympathy goes to the Roeder family in the death of Mrs. Stevens. They are the grandchildren of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Beasley of Magar Station and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Roach. McHenry News Shower Honors Phillip Ro rks A shower for Mrs. Phillip Rock was held last Friday evening at the home of Mrs. Dickie Rock. She received several nice and useful gifts. Several attended. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ray Hillard and Eddie, Whiting, Indiana, spent last week with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Hillard, and family Mr. and Mrs. Royce Midkiff, Louisville. Mrs. Ruth Cooper, Mrs. Juanita Harris, spent some time last week with their aunt, Mrs. Edna Parritt. Mrs. Chester Thompson is visiting relatives in Evansville, Indiana. Mrs. Joy Leach, Mrs. Hubert Hillard and Violet Johnston, visited Mrs. Oris Goodall Friday afternoon.
