Mr. Scott Lewis, Wayland Alexander, principal, served as the Master of Ceremonies. Guest speakers were Ms. Rena Burden, a senior at Ohio County High School. Ms. Burden holds many po- sitions of leadership includ- ing statewide offices as well as many leadership roles at Ohio County High School. Ms. Burden participated in the first Leadership Seminar sponsored by the Gifl d al- ented Program. Ms. Marianne Pieper also served as a guest speaker and engaged the students in some leadership activities. Forty-eight fifth and sixth-grade students at- tended the leadership semi- nat. The students are identi- fied in the area of leadership and are in the classes of Ms. Linda Reid and Mr. Jim McKee. Hines, the son of Charles and Susan Hines, of Centertown, has recently become a member of Phi Sigma Theta National Honor Society at University of Kentucky. Phi Sigma Theta is a national honor society dedicated to recognizing and rewarding academic achievement in undergraduates at institutions of higher learning.
